Job Title Title SearcherFLSA Status Non-Exempt SUMMARYThe Title Searcher searches public records and indices to compile chains of title and legal instruments pertaining to property titles such as mortgages, deeds, judgments and liens. Determines documents required to remove matters affecting title to real estate. Prepares commitments and final policies of title insurance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReviews copies of records such as mortgages, liens, judgment, easements, , and plat and map booksPrepares title commitment and final policy of title insurance based on information compiled from title searchUse software to draw legal descriptions to verify closure and identify encroachments or overlaps. Performs all other duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNo supervisory responsibilitiesQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
