Job Overview

Knox Horticulture is seeking a versatile and energetic Jack of All Trades to join our dynamic maintenance team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys hands-on work, and possesses a broad skill set across multiple trades. As a Jack of All Trades, you will be instrumental in supporting and conducting various projects, ensuring quality workmanship, safety compliance, and timely completion. Your proactive approach and adaptability will help us deliver exceptional results on diverse projects, all within a greenhouse/warehouse environment. Ability to work with a diverse team to prevent equipment downtime is a must. Being bilingual in English and Spanish is a HUGE plus.

Duties

• Perform a wide range of maintenance tasks including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers (water heaters), boom irrigators and many other items.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently across a large facility.
• Interpret technical drawings and plans to execute tasks accurately and according to design.
• Conduct inspections of facilites and equipment to ensure adherence to safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Be able to assess a problem and create a plan to execute a repair with precision.
• Assist with electrical and plumbing work as needed, following safety guidelines and technical instructions.
• Support a production facility where timelines are critical. If production is down, it becomes the priority over a preventative maintenance issue (putting out the fire).

Requirements

• Proven experience with a strong background in building /facility maintenance projects.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and operating heavy equipment safely.
• Knowledge of interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams; experience with Raypak boilers is a plus.
• Skilled in various trades such as welding, electrical work, plumbing, caulking, and installation of equipment.
• Ability to perform outdoor work comfortably in different weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
• Familiarity with construction management principles and estimating processes is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to adhere strictly to safety regulations on all job sites.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the flexibility to handle multiple tasks across different trades efficiently.
• Be able to climb a ladder, lift 50 pounds is required.
• Be a self starter and be able to prioritize task as needed.

About Knox Horticulture:

Knox Horticulture began in 1962 as Knox Nursery and is a leading wholesaler of young plants to greenhouses across the Unites States.

We are located on 33 acres in Winter Garden, FL.

Our production processes make extensive use of automation and computer technology, include RFID tracking of plant trays from production to shipping.

We use the Eco-friendly EZ-Pot System to significantly reduce the use of traditional plastic pots and saving money, while providing our customers with plants that have a healthier root system, resulting in faster finish times after transplant.

Compensation is commensurate with experience/background. While we posted an entry level wage range, if you are a well qualified applicant the wage is dependent on that experience. We also offer benefits, vacation, holiday pay, health care and 401K matching.
