Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified long-term Substitute Teacher to join our team. This is a 90-day position which will cover the extended leave of a current preschool teacher. For the duration of the coverage period, this position will be full time (40 hours per week). As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment. The successful candidate will possess, at minimum, an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. There are two experienced assistant teachers in the room who are already familiar with the children and the routine. The assistant teachers will provide strong support in lesson planning, structuring the day, collecting observations, and entering assessment data. Your role will be to provide an additional assertive voice in the classroom who can lead the children through the day and manage both large and small groups effectively.
Duties
- Assist with the creation and implementation of lesson plans using The Creative Curriculum for Preschoolers.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that is rich in Conscious Discipline
- Provide instruction, support, and guidance to students
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a productive learning atmosphere
- Collaborate with KCHS staff to meet students' educational needs
Requirements
- Above all, it is critical that this individual enjoy being around young children and commits to creating a space where children can joyfully learn while being cared for in a high quality setting.
- Experience working with young children in educational settings
- Knowledge of appropriate developmental expectations for young children
- Knowledge of curriculum development and classroom management techniques

Pay: $16.11 - $19.12 per hour
