JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for analyzing and coordinating the logistical functions for products coming into and out of the mill. Works closely with Supply Chain for the life cycle of a product, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, and final disposal of resources.

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment. Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

Works closely with manufacturing, customer service, purchasing, maintenance, sales and accounting to optimize the shipment of products to our customers. Responsible for ensuring that inventory is organized and accounted for using FIFO practices.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Performs all AES requirements (Automated Export System) for export through Census Bureau/Document.

Point person for all incoming and outgoing freight.

Works closely with Freight Carriers for all incoming and outgoing loads - communicates to Purchasing and Customer Service (when KT is responsible for freight).

Key member of the OTD Team for customer orders (coordinates completion with production-ensures timely shipments).

Administers OTD metrics of Freight Carriers delivering KT routed materials from Knowlton suppliers.

Lead receiver of goods and services coming to the mill.

Drives First in First Out handling of all raw materials.

Oversees and directs activities of Shipping /Receiving personnel.

Performs daily cycle count activities for raw materials (possible Finished Goods & Raw Rolls) and facilitates reconciliation of any inventory inaccuracies found by Cycle counts. 

Supports mill-wide inventories.

Coordinates activities with the Knowlton Off-Site Storage Warehouse. 

Audit incoming Pulp load weights on incoming raw materials. 

Specifies unload/load dates of trucks and works closely with freight forwarder (carrier coordination).

Utilize all customer requested websites, portals and shipping requirements.

Interface with customers with Advanced Shipment Notification (ASN).

Understands the union rules and shipping / receiving budget.

Coordinates tow-motor and vehicle maintenance, including KT leased truck.

Ensures cleanliness per 6S schedule and safety of all shipping, receiving and warehouse areas.

Enforces all company safety policies and procedures and created policies and procedures for logistics activities.

Complies with all company policies and procedures including crew member discipline and documentation.

Manage Vendor Certificates of Analyses.

Supports, maintains and continually improves Knowlton Technologies, LLC Quality Management System in accordance with requirements of the IATF 16949 International Standard. Employee has the role and responsibility to follow the work instructions and Current Best Practices that support the KT Value Stream Maps.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s degree in business, management or finance (or equivalent work experience).

      Over 5 years of logistics management in a manufacturing environment.

       Leadership and organizational skills.

      Ability to work with minimal supervision.

      Ability to multi-task.

      Ability to coordinate work with other internal departments.

High proficiency with MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint.

Effective negotiator and problem solver.

Effective analytical, communications (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.

Effective team base work performance.

COMPUTER LITERACY:

High proficiency in utilizing company computer systems to be able to generate reports, metrics and other purchasing information required in the performance of job responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret customer needs through requisitions, direct communications or other means to complete the procurement cycle. 

Adequate understanding of the accounting function for increased efficiencies. 

Accurate interpretation of supplier quotes, agreements and bid responses. 

Ability to effectively communicate or present information to all internal and external stakeholders.

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts to accurately report purchasing metrics such as cost savings, delivery performance, bid results, supplier benchmarking, supply market conditions and other assigned work.

Since the facility is located on multiple levels, the employee must possess the ability to climb stairs on a routine basis, is occasionally required to sit.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in manufacturing areas. The noise level in the work area will vary depending on the plant site.

 

Salary : $67,500 - $90,000
