What are the responsibilities and job description for the SHIPPER/RECEIVER position at Knowles?
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To maintain efficient handling and accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments as related to the warehouse operation.
REPORTS TO:
Warehouse Manager
SUBORDINATES:
None
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shipping:
Processing outgoing domestic shipments which include processing shipments through UPS portal, FEDEX portal, and manual BOL for various freight carriers. This also includes weekly consolidation shipments to distributors, some using their own logistic portals.
Processing outgoing international export shipments which include various international export carriers which are different than domestic carriers. Some of these are online portals. The processing and completion of the export commercial invoices and ensuring export paperwork is accurate and complete.
Incoming:
Unloading of the incoming bi-weekly containers that are received from Hong Kong as well as domestic supplier shipments that are received.
Processing of the incoming purchase orders of the warehouse supplies and stocking and scanning into the stock locations.
Unloading of incoming freight and verification of the quality of the product to be free of damage. Handling of incoming freight damage and shortages and filing claims with carriers.

Other duties as required within the warehouse.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3 – 5 years related experience
- Knowledge of carriers, shipping methods and handling procedures
- Good organizational skills
- Good communication skills – verbal, written and interpersonal
- Computer familiarity required
- Good math skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use various types of material handling equipment
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to communicate with carriers, customers, and customer service to resolve problems.
- Must have good organizational skills, computer skills, math skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Ability to utilize time efficiently to handle the large amount of daily shipments, consolidations, and all other daily activity that require specific timelines based on the different freight carriers and their pickup schedules.
