Our organization is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team in Santa Rosa, California. This is a full-time. We are looking for an experienced professional who is passionate about providing exceptional, patient-centered care to mothers and their newborns throughout the miraculous journey of childbirth.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will provide comprehensive care to patients from admission through the postpartum period. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting patient assessments, monitoring fetal heart tones, and evaluating maternal well-being.
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans.
- Administering medications, managing IV fluids, and operating medical equipment as prescribed.
- Providing hands-on support and emotional encouragement to patients and their families during labor and delivery.
- Assisting physicians with procedures and interventions.
- Educating patients and their families on childbirth, postpartum care, and newborn care.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records, including all medical interventions and patient responses.
- Acting as a patient advocate to ensure safety and comfort at all times.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and pediatric staff, to ensure coordinated and seamless care
Requirements
- Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience, preferably within a labor and delivery or obstetrics unit.
- Licensure/Certifications:
- Active and unrestricted California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
