If you have a knack for troubleshooting, a strong work ethic, and a drive to deliver exceptional service, this is the role for you!

What You’ll Do:

As a Generator Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients have reliable power when they need it most. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Hands-On Work: Perform maintenance and repairs on generator sets ranging from 5-5000kw and troubleshoot Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) including bypass isolation and closed transition types.
  • Engine Diagnostics: Work on diesel or gaseous engine systems – diagnosing and repairing issues with ignition components, fuel injection systems, and more.
  • Testing & Calibration: Conduct load bank testing to ensure all units meet performance standards and applicable code requirements.
  • Collaboration: Assist fellow technicians with larger projects and troubleshooting, providing support and sharing your expertise.
  • Preventative Care: Perform routine maintenance, including oil and filter changes, and replace any faulty components to keep the generators running smoothly.

What We’re Looking For:

We want someone who’s not only skilled but eager to grow with us. Here’s what we’re hoping you bring to the table:

  • Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma required; an associate’s degree in a related electrical/mechanical field is preferred.
  • Generac Power Systems certification or 5-10 years of experience in power generation is a big plus.
  • Military experience (United States Air Force Electrical Power Production Specialist, United States Navy Electrician’s Mate) or Generator field service tech experience is highly valued.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills to keep both our team and clients in the loop.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to travel and manage your schedule efficiently.
  • Comfortable with technology – proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe (PDFs).
  • A valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record (you’ll be traveling to job sites frequently).

Why You’ll Love Working with Us:

At Energy Management Corporation, we value our employees and invest in your future. Here’s how we make sure you’re taken care of:

  • Competitive Pay: We offer a highly competitive salary based on your experience and certifications. Plus, overtime is paid at 1.5x your base rate.
  • Generous PTO & Holidays: Two weeks of paid time off (PTO) after just 90 days, plus 2 floating personal days and up to 7 paid company holidays.
  • Health & Wellness Benefits: Enjoy comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Retirement Plans: Secure your future with our 401(k)-retirement savings plan, including company matching.
  • Insurance: Company-sponsored life insurance, along with short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Training & Development: We’ll help you grow! You’ll receive company sponsored training opportunities, including attending courses in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and other OEM certified courses.

What You Can Expect:

  • Dynamic Work Environment: You’ll never be bored – you’ll work in various weather conditions, near mechanical equipment, and in diverse environments.
  • Physical Activity: Be ready to lift to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and stay active throughout your day.
  • Travel Opportunities: The job requires travel, including occasional overnight stays (1-3 nights a week), with expenses covered by the company per policy. You’ll see new places while doing what you love!

Additional Requirements:

  • Criminal background checks and pre-employment drug screening are required.
  • Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination.
