The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the MERAK group’s day to day accounting tasks. This position is also responsible for assisting with the preparation of the bi-annual budget and forecasts. Duties are to include assisting with the complete month-end and year-end financial close process, the preparation, analysis, and reporting of financials for internal and external customers, assistance with AP and AR duties as assigned, and assistance with the yearly audit.

Essential Functions:
- Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment and ensure the compliance with company's rules and policies.

- Must understand and comply with applicable standards. ( i.e.: ISO 9001, ISO 22163, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, AAR, and CMMI).
- Maintain and safeguard business records.
- Monthly Reporting
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Assist with determination of appropriate monthly and yearly accruals
- Complete month-end close duties, including entry of financials into SEM
- Prepare Corporate reporting requirements including OLAP books, A/R Reports, Functional P&L, Governance Reports, Cost Center Reports, and KPIs
- Assist in preparation of account reconciliations
- Prepare and post reconciling entries based off account reconciliations
- Prepare and submit quarterly sales tax estimates as required
- Accounts Payable
- Research and assist in resolving problems with outstanding invoices
- Assist in intercompany matching using the Bellin Netting Tool
- Assist in proper coding of invoices using GL and WBS numbers
- Accounts Receivable
- Assist in researching and applying customer payments
- Research and resolve outstanding AR P.O.D/Invoice issues
- Prepare monthly A/R customer statements and collection letters when necessary
- Monitor customer discounts taken for early payment
- Cash Management
- Retrieve daily bank statements from Deutsche Bank and Royal Bank
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of Bank-to-Book balances and activity
- Annual Budgets/Forecasts
- Assist with development of annual budget and mid-year forecasts
- Complete other accounting projects as assigned, to include, but not limited to:
- Assist with yearly financial audit
- Assist with yearly physical inventory processes
- Assist with preparation of annual property tax return
- Assist with yearly insurance renewals
- Ad hoc report creation
- Problem resolution
- Ability to sort and prioritize workload
- Manage multiple internal / external customer demands
- Bachelor Degree - Accounting or Business Administration
- 0-2 Years Relevant Experience
