Job Overview
Knoch School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Clinician – Long-Term Substitute to provide mental health support and services to students. This position is anticipated to begin in mid-December 2026 and continue through the end of the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, counselors, administrators, and other school professionals to support students' social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group mental health support to students as appropriate.
- Assess students' social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs and help develop appropriate interventions and supports.
- Provide crisis intervention and support when needed.
- Collaborate with school counselors, psychologists, teachers, administrators, families, and other professionals to support student success.
- Help students develop coping strategies, problem-solving skills, emotional regulation, and other skills that promote overall well-being.
- Connect students and families with appropriate school and community resources when needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and District procedures.
- Participate in student support meetings and other collaborative team meetings as appropriate.
- Support District initiatives related to student mental health, wellness, and school climate.
Qualifications
- Active PA School Social Worker PK-12 or School Counselor Certification Required.
- Experience as a School Social Worker or School Counselor preferred.
- Knowledge of student mental health, behavioral interventions, crisis response, and available community resources.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, staff, administrators, and outside providers.
- Must obtain all required employment clearances, including PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal Background, and FBI Fingerprint clearances.
