Responsibilities
- Assist with patient assessments, vital signs, and medical history documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic and other EMR platforms.
- Support clinical procedures across multiple specialties including psychiatry, cardiology, neurology, ophthalmology, and pediatrics.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure adherence to infection control protocols.
- Aid healthcare providers during diagnostic imaging procedures like CT scans, nuclear medicine, or interventional radiology interventions.
- Manage patient flow in inpatient and outpatient settings, including triage, discharge planning, and post-acute care coordination.
- Document clinical notes accurately, assist with CPT coding processes, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient service support through health coaching, patient education, and answering general inquiries.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with medical office operations or clinical research is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology is essential for effective communication and understanding of procedures.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain it is required.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or other electronic health records is highly desirable.
- Experience in hospital or inpatient settings, including ICU or trauma center experience, will be advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical records and discharge plans.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced environment.
