The Y Press Operator is responsible for the completion of customer product requirements on time and with the highest quality within an assigned area while maintaining an environment that focuses on the Knight Material Technologies How We Work Principles of Safety and Compliance, Customer Focus, Respect, Integrity, Problem Solvers, and Teamwork.  

Job Title: Y Press Operator 

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Non-Exempt Position 

Location: East Canton, OH

Responsibilities:

• Consistently demonstrates all KMT core values (Safety, Respect, Integrity, Customer Focus, Problem Solving).
• Safely operates and maintains all equipment in the plant to produce maximum production rates while adhering to safety rules and regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Builds dye within specifications once trained
• Recognizes difference between bricks that pass and fail quality standards
• Trains to trouble shoot common issues.
• Performs routine checks of equipment and maintains appropriate logs.
• Performs housekeeping in the plant area to ensure a safe and clean workplace.
• Makes necessary adjustments to always ensure operations reliability.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Requirements: 

• One (1) year heavy duty industrial machinery experience 
• Understands, adheres to, and reinforces safety policies
• Kiln, Press or Extrusion experience

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two (2) or more years of manufacturing experience.
• Press or extrusion experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None

Physical Requirements: (With or Without reasonable accommodation)

• Must be willing and able to squat, bend and lift to 50lbs
• Must be willing and able to stand and work up to a 10-hour day in a non-climate-controlled facility 
• Willing and able to work in an environment that can be hot, humid, dusty, and noisy.
• Must be able to access all areas of the facility
