Position Overview:
Knight Law Group seeks an experienced Legal Secretary with strong federal and bankruptcy court filing experience in California. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment handling time-sensitive matter. This position is fully on-site, working Monday through Friday, eight hours per day, with one evening shift per month for late court filings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, proofread, and finalize legal documents, including federal and bankruptcy court filings in compliance with local rules.
- File court documents electronically using CM/ECF and applicable state and federal e-filing systems.
- Maintain attorney calendars, track deadlines, and manage case-related communications.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files.
- Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff to ensure timely filing and case progress.
- Assist with document production, correspondence, and client communications.
- Provide administrative support as needed across litigation teams.
Qualifications:
- Some law firm experience required, lemon law experience highly preferred.
- Federal and bankruptcy court filing experience (California) required.
- Strong understanding of local rules, court deadlines, and e-filing systems.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (or educational equivalent).
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Must be a team player with a positive, cooperative attitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat).
Schedule:
- On-site: Monday–Friday, 8-hour workdays
- Evening work: One evening shift per month (for late filings)
Compensation:
- Commensurate with experience; competitive hourly rate.
