Independent On-Call Handyman (1099)

Knight Group Handyman Services LLC is a busy, insured handyman company in Safety Harbor. We send overflow work to independent contractors when our board is full, which lately is often. We're looking for a few dependable pros, plus some on-call backups we can count on when a regular is out. This is 1099 contractor work, not W-2 employment. Applying is not a job offer.

What matters most: reliability. Show up when you say you will, communicate when something changes, and leave the job clean. Skill matters, but showing up and following through is what keeps you on our board.

Fluent spoken and written English is REQUIRED. You will text and talk directly with homeowners and property managers. Bilingual is great; clear English is required. If you cannot communicate well in English with customers, please do not apply.

Pay (contractor pay, per job). Pay is variable and confirmed before you take a ticket.
- General handyman jobs: $75 for the first hour of each job, $50 per hour after
- The first hour resets on the next ticket
- Specialty, vendor, and unusual scopes can pay differently
- This is what we pay the contractor, not the homeowner rate

The work: drywall, paint, carpentry, punch lists, hardware, doors and finish closeout. You run your own business, bring your own tools and truck, and choose which jobs you accept.
A plus: flooring (LVP/laminate), quarter round, baseboard and trim, and finish carpentry. We have ongoing room-by-room commercial work that needs this.
Valued: availability on weekends, evenings, or short notice. On-call backups who answer the phone get offered more work.

What the work is not: Knight Group is a registered, insured handyman company, not a licensed electrical, plumbing, or HVAC contractor. Don't apply expecting to do potable-water connections, service-panel work, or other licensed-trade work as Knight Group. Those jobs go to licensed providers.

- Your own general liability insurance (current COI)
- Your own Florida workers' comp exemption or a workers' comp policy (we check the state database)
- Completed IRS W-9

- Reliable truck, your own tools, and a working phone you answer or return quickly

How it works:

2. Send your W-9, GL COI and WC exemption/policy. We verify them.
3. Quick phone call.
4. Your first job is a paid ride-along with one of our lead techs, so we can see your work and you can see how we run jobs.
5. After that, you'll get job offers by text with scope and pay up front. Accept the ones that fit your schedule.

Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour
