Position Summary
Provide inspection of tubular products and other oilfield equipment.
Position Duties
- Inspect drill pipe, HWDP, collars, kellys, subs and other oilfield equipment
- Cleaning and prep of collars, pipe, kellys and subs and tools
- Run either stationary or mobile EMI
- Read and interpret Knight Energy Services’ manuals to meet compliance standards
- Complete inspection reports
- Train Pipe Technicians & Apprentice Inspectors
- Maintain and care for inspection equipment. Ensure all equipment is calibrated & in safe working condition
- Required to work on a 24 hours call basis
- Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level
- Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Knight Energy Services
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
Competencies Required for Effective Performance
- Must have possess at a minimum 3 of the 5 inspector certifications listed below AND be willing and able to obtain all 5 certifications once provided with sufficient training
- MPI
- EMI
- MT
- PT
- Visual inspection
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office suite of software
- Extensive working knowledge of equipment inspected
- Proficient mathematical skills in terms of fractions, measurements and conversions
- Individual must be able to follow instructions
- Should be able to work closely with fellow employees
- Visual Capabilities need: depth perception, color discrimination, and visual acuity
Work Environment
- Typically works in a moderately noisy environment
- Routine exposure to the elements, including working outdoors and in a non-climate controlled building
- Repetitive motions, frequent bending, squatting, climbing, twisting, and reaching
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
