About the Coach
We are looking for a qualified chess Coach to instruct, train and motivate students in a classroom setting. The Coach will work autonomously and supervise students as they complete assigned activities.
Primary Responsibilities
Instruct students in a classroom setting
- Assess students’ abilities and help them improve
- Encourage students to participate and complete activities
- Provide feedback to students and teachers
- Supervise students during classes and activities
- Ensure all safety requirements are met and exceeded
- Report on all accidents, injuries etc. to the Director of Education Services or the Director of Parent Education Services (if applicable)
- Ensure that all activities are safe, clean, well-organized, well-planned and well-taught for the students’ sake
- Maintain a positive, encouraging environment for the students
- Give feedback to the instructors and supervisors immediately to ensure quality instruction
- Instruct students in areas of safety, communication, problem-solving skills, etc.
Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children and supervise well-trained staff members.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds without assistance.
