Paving Superintendent

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Supervise multiple foremen or subcontractors on one or more paving projects
• Work closely with Construction Superintendent, General Superintendent, Plant Manager, Project Engineers and other key personnel
• Communicate with crew and traffic control on the daily paving plans and ensure a safe work environment
• Manage project schedules to ensure efficiency and production without sacrificing quality of work.
• Review daily cost reports
• Communicate progress to key individuals
• Meet with agencies and owners to build and maintain relationships
• Approve daily timecards
• Communicate and manage daily equipment needs with service departments
• Coordinate trucking with Trucking Supervisor and Dispatcher
• Provide training and direction for key personnel
• Travel to project locations
• Work a flexible schedule both days and nights
• Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

• 8 years of asphalt paving industry or related experience
• 3 years supervising crews and equipment
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
• Effectively communicate with crews, foremen, agencies, owners and the community
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills
• Thorough understanding of the industry practices and regulatory compliance requirements
• Work well under pressure and with tight deadlines
• Ability to think critically and change plan as needed
• Current driver's license
• Flexible schedule
