Job Summary
We are seeking a hard-working and energetic announcer to join our team. You'll wear many hats, including voice tracking a daily on-air shift, doing sports play-by-play, conducting both news and sports interviews, writing and recording news and sports stories for our radio station and website, covering live broadcast events in our communities and making posts to our social media channels. No two days will be alike!
Responsibilities
- Develop and produce original content, including news and sports stories, interviews, and special features for both the radio station and our website
- Conduct play-by-play broadcasts of local high school sporting events
- Operate broadcast studio equipment, including microphones, mixers, and soundboards, to ensure high-quality audio output
- Edit audio and video content using media editing tools such as Adobe Audition and Descript for post-production refinement
- Contribute to our social media platforms by creating content to boost station visibility
- Monitor broadcast quality and troubleshoot technical issues promptly to maintain seamless programming
Qualifications
- Proven experience in radio broadcasting or media content creation with a strong portfolio of on-air work or digital content
- Excellent storytelling, writing, and communication skills
- Proficiency in media editing software such as Adobe Audition
- Knowledge of broadcast studio equipment operation. Previous use of Wide Orbit would be a plus, but is not required.
- Familiarity with social media management platforms and content creation strategies across various channels
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously using project management tools
- Passion for journalism, media production, and staying current with industry trends
