Job Summary
Knelly Lawn Service is a small landscaping company in Bloomsburg PA. We are family owned and dedicated to high quality work. As we grow, we are looking for an individual who is ready to start training and learning our craft. Understand we are extremely dependent on the weather, so schedules may fluctuate week to week.
Employees will be expected to be substance free while on the clock, have a valid drivers license and clean record. Candidates must be able to pass a state and Federal background check.
This position will be on an as needed basis through the winter to assist in snow removal and ice management operations. A full-time position may become available in the Spring of 2026.
Duties may entail driving trucks, operating zero turn mowers, various power equipment, and providing general labor in day-to-day operations.
A 30-day probationary period will be observed. Employment will be contingent upon a 30-day review.
Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape maintenance activities such as mowing, trimming, pruning, and edging to ensure healthy and attractive lawns and gardens
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely for planting, digging, and other landscaping tasks
- Support the installation of hardscape features including patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other structures
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and installing components to ensure proper watering of landscapes
- Perform general gardening duties such as planting flowers, shrubs, trees, and applying mulch or soil amendments
- Use equipment like excavators and snow plows when necessary for site preparation or seasonal cleanup
- Conduct routine landscape inspections to identify maintenance needs or hazards and report findings promptly
- Speak with clients in a professional, friendly manner
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot landscaping equipment and power tools effectively
- Experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, gardening, and horticulture practices is recommended, but not required
- Familiarity with landscaping techniques including hardscape installation and tree care such as trimming and planting
- Ability to use hand tools safely and efficiently in various outdoor tasks
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and repair processes
- Construction experience related to landscape projects or site preparation is a plus
- Strong understanding of safety protocols when working with heavy machinery like excavators or snow plows
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with a proactive attitude toward maintaining high standards of landscape quality
