Position Summary
The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day Accounts Receivable
and Accounts Payable functions. This role assists with the accurate processing of
customer payments, timely handling of vendor invoices, and proper documentation
within accounting and wholesale platforms. The Junior Accountant will collaborate with
internal teams to support billing, reporting, and financial operations.
Role & Responsibilities
● Assist with logging and tracking incoming payments.
● Support the processing of checks, including documentation and preparation for deposit
while maintaining organized records.
● Assist in completing and verifying weekly wholesale billing and preparing reports for
review.
● Review Accounts Receivable reports and flag any discrepancies or concerns.
● Respond to customer inquiries and assist with follow-up communication regarding
outstanding balances.
● Monitor Accounts Payable email inboxes for incoming vendor invoices.
● Review invoices in the accounting system to identify potential duplicates.
● Prepare invoices for management review and approval.
● Assist with submitting invoices for approval and ensuring proper coding and
documentation.
● Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and assist with invoice follow ups.
● Collaborate with internal teams to ensure invoices are properly prepared for payment
processing.
Additional Responsibilities
● Collaborate with department teams to support financial processes.
● Provide support to upper management with projects and administrative tasks as
needed.
● Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; associate’s degree
with relevant accounting experience will be considered.
● 1–3 years of accounting, finance, or related experience preferred (internships or relevant
hands-on experience acceptable).
● Basic knowledge of accounting principles, including Accounts Payable, Accounts
Receivable, and basic reconciliations.
● Prior restaurant or hospitality experience is a plus.
● Experience with QuickBooks, Online Enterprise, BlueCart, and Toast preferred.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, with strong Excel skills preferred.
● Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
● Ability to handle sensitive financial information with professionalism and
confidentiality.
● Reliable transportation required.
