PATIENT CARE ASSISTANT
We are seeking a Med- Surge Patient Care Assistant , sometimes referred to as a Med-surge Patient Care Partner (PCP ) or a Med-surge PCA . Our Med-surge Patient Care Assistant ( Med-surge PCA ) will work in our hospital’s Med-surge unit, providing general patient care while also supporting continuous heart and vital sign monitoring for cardiac patients.
Shifts Available : Nights
Employment Type : Full Time
Hours : 12 -hour shifts – 6:45pm- 7:00am

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
- Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
- Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
- Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
