Logistics Coordinator

General Description:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible to coordinate the day-to-day logistics activities for inbound and outbound transportation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Facilitating the shipping of finished trucks to the customer location.
2. Facilitates the receiving of all vehicles at the facility
3. Arrange transportation, scheduling drivers and orchestrate deliveries to meet customer demand.
4. Ensure that goods are shipped in the most timely and efficient manner according to documented processes; plan transportation routes and payloads, select mode of transportation, and tender the order for transportation.
5. Review inventory position against outstanding orders and sales forecasts; take action to expedite inbound shipments to meet customer demands.
6. Communicate with and schedule drivers for delivery of goods to customers out of the facility.
7. Ensure shipments are in compliance with all safety and environmental rules and regulations and company policies.
8. Ensures that all associated forms and paperwork are correct and filed appropriately.
9. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
10. Work safely in a production environment wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
11. Receives, inspects, scans and parks all incoming chassis
12. Records and reports any transportation damage for incoming chassis
13. Takes a monthly chassis inventory
14. Maintains lot appearance.
15. Assists other lot personnel when needed
16. Other duties as assigned

Preferred Training and Experience:

1. Need good mathematical aptitude and organizational skills to work at a high level of accuracy.
2. One year of factory-related experience in shipping and/or receiving.
3. Problem solving and decision making skills.
4. Logistics coordination is highly valued.
5. Ability to obtain detailed knowledge of services and technical applications.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Ability to analyze data and understand connections.
8. Ability to maintain a neat, clean and organized work area.

Education/Certification Requirements

1. Associates degree or equivalent experience.
2. Bachelor's degree preferred
3. Familiarity with software programs used in this job preferred

Physical Demands:

1. Normal standing, walking, bending and twisting as necessary to perform job duties.
2. Exposed to normal seasonal temperatures.
3. Lifting/moving up to 50 pounds
