Medical Coder I
Position Summary
Entry-level position responsible for reviewing patient documentation and assigning accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes under supervision while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and payer guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Review clinical documentation for coding accuracy.
· Assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes under supervision.
· Assist with coding corrections and claim edits.
· Maintain coding compliance with CMS and Medicare guidelines.
· Communicate with clinical staff regarding documentation clarification.
· Participate in coding education and training programs.
· Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Coding certification preferred (CPC, CCS, or equivalent).
· 1 years of coding or healthcare administrative experience preferred.
· Basic knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
