Position Summary / Objective:
Administrative support to NAVSEA 07Q for updating submarine requirements manuals, facilitating low and high level meetings, and generating and distributing formal correspondence.
Essential functions:

- Assist the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Submarine Quality Assurance Office with requirements manual administrative changes and revision support to ensure that the material condition of the submarine is satisfactory for the safe conduct of trials and operation.
- Process manual language change requests from shipyards and other facilities for the three requirements manuals that govern the design and execution of work procedures for submarines during maintenance availabilities.
- Manage the language change progress from receipt through approval and implementation by communicating directly with the Navy technical offices to adjudicate changes to manual language, track comments and resolutions, redlining and redacting manuals, maintaining strawmen and developing formal correspondence for the Navy program office.
- Provide support in managing a Sharepoint website to capture and track progress for all manual changes and revision projects.
- Participate in technical exchange meetings between the Government program offices and the shipyards performing submarine design tasks. Support the preparation, execution, minutes capturing, agendas, reports, and actions for these Program Office meetings.
- Support the preparation, coordination, and distribution of Program Office reports and correspondence.
- Support the development and tracking of metrics.
- This position has potential to grow technically. It is administrative support in nature but with experience you will understand the manual requirements and be able to anticipate problems with change requests and provide suggestions and recommendations to the Navy customer
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or three years of work experience in a related field is required.

Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, and Outlook software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
- Must be highly reliable and demonstrate personal initiative to operate in a fast-paced team environment with changing priorities.
- Possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize for short-term and long-term deadlines.
- Ability to master and follow written procedures and instructions.
- Reviews and edits material prepared by teammates and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, and content with excellent attention to detail.
- Construct clear, concise, and respectful email messages.

Work authorization/security clearance requirements:
- Active Secret clearance is required. Able to begin work with an interim Secret clearance.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is often required to walk 10 minutes to the customer site for direct interaction and some meeting attendance. Meetings are also routinely held on MS Teams. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. Attendance at prescheduled mandatory meetings is required. Must be available during the core work hours as determined by your contract/location and must account for the required number of hours in a pay period to maintain Full-time status.
Telework:
- Situational telework may be authorized subject to customer requirements/expectations.
Travel
- Ability to travel CONUS; potential to travel OCONUS
- Travel up to 10% may be required.
