Senior Quality Tech Level 3 – Metrology Mentor & Inspection Expert

At KMM Group, Ltd., we manufacture components for life-saving medical devices and advanced aerospace systems. We are seeking a Quality Tech, Level 3 (QT3) — a highly experienced metrology professional who can lead by example on the inspection floor, solve complex measurement challenges, and mentor peers while upholding rigorous quality standards.

What You’ll Do
Metrology & Inspection Excellence
Perform First Article, in-process, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, height gages, profilometers, advanced CMMs, , Keyence and OGP vision systems and other automated inspection equipment.
Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to validate complex features
Maintain traceability of all inspected parts and documentation to meet FDA, ISO 13485, and AS9100 requirements
Escalate non-conformances and assist with CAPA investigations to prevent recurrence
Mentorship & Technical Leadership
Provide on-the-floor coaching to junior Quality Techs (QT1 and QT2)
Collaborate with QC leadership to manage inspection flow and reduce bottlenecks
Ensure GDP-compliant documentation and drive data integrity across inspection processes
Support audit readiness and SOP improvements
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Engage in QMS initiatives and SOP updates
Stay informed on metrology automation trends and implement new techniques where applicable
Contribute to inspection training materials and cross-functional learning
✅ What You Bring
5 years of inspection experience in Quality Control & Inspection in a regulated CNC machining or grinding manufacturing environment (medical or aerospace preferred)
Proficiency in metrology tools: mic’s, calipers, optical comparators, profilometers, roundness testers, and microscopes, etc.
Strong knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5
Familiarity with ISO 13485:2016 and AS9100 standards
Exceptional attention to detail, documentation, and inspection accuracy
Bonus Points For
Machining Experience
Experience mentoring or training inspection staff
Knowledge of CMM programming (Zeiss Calypso a plus), Keyence IM Series and OGP Video Inspection Equipment.
Involvement in SOP development and audit prep
Passion for inspection automation and continuous learning
