Role Description The Superintendent role at KMD Construction, LLC is a full-time, on-site position based in Salisbury, NC. This role oversees day-to-day field operations, including managing subcontractors, coordinating construction schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and in accordance with project plans and specifications. The Superintendent monitors jobsite progress, conducts regular inspections, and addresses issues promptly to maintain quality and compliance with building codes and company standards. This role works closely with project managers, owners, and inspectors to facilitate clear communication, document jobsite activities, and support accurate reporting. The Superintendent is also responsible for promoting a safe work environment, enforcing company policies, and fostering teamwork among all on-site personnel.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supervising commercial construction projects, including ground-up builds, renovations, or design/build work.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, drawings, specifications, building codes, and inspection requirements.
• Ability to coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors, manage schedules, and maintain project timelines and milestones.
• Proficiency in jobsite documentation, daily reports, and basic construction software or project management tools.
• Commitment to safety practices, including implementing and enforcing safety plans, OSHA guidelines, and risk mitigation measures.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with project managers, clients, inspectors, and field teams.
• Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills in a fast-paced jobsite environment.
• High level of integrity and accountability aligned with KMD Construction’s core values of doing the right thing and teamwork.
• Ability to work on-site daily in Salisbury, NC, including occasional extended hours as project needs require.
• Relevant experience as a Superintendent, Foreperson, or similar construction leadership role; experience in commercial or retail projects is preferred.
