Mix 94.7 KMCH is Eastern Iowa’s premier local radio station, serving listener communities across Delaware, Dubuque, Clayton, Buchanan, Jones, Linn, and Fayette counties. About the Role
We are looking for a community-minded communicator to join our team in Manchester. This role combines on-air entertaining with building relationships with local businesses to grow their brand presence across our entire Eastern Iowa service area.
Flexible Hiring Options: We are open to hiring one full-time employee to cover both responsibilities OR two part-time employees (one On-Air Host, one Marketing Consultant). Please specify your preference when applying.
Key Responsibilities
On-Air Host (Content / Operations)
- Host an engaging air shift on Mix 94.7 KMCH (Mon–Fri).
- Assist our News Director with gathering regional news stories, reporting on local events, and writing on-air weather and news copy.
- Voice and produce audio commercials, station promos, and daily program content.
- Manage station social media engagement and represent KMCH at live remotes, community events and parades
- Sports Bonus: Opportunities to assist with KMCH Sports coverage, including area high school play-by-play (football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, wrestling), sports reporting, or hosting local sports recaps.
Marketing Consultant (Sales / Account Management)
- Connect with businesses across Delaware, Dubuque, Clayton, Buchanan, Jones, Linn, and Fayette counties to identify their advertising goals.
- Pitch multi-platform custom marketing plans including radio spots, digital media products, event sponsorships, and agricultural/sports feature packages.
- Develop long-term commercial relationships and assist clients with campaign strategy and copy concepts.
- Consistently meet sales goals while supporting regional economic development.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Background or strong interest in radio broadcasting, digital media, or local sales (willing to train the right candidate).
- Comfortable on air with a warm, personable delivery, clear vocal projection, and basic audio editing ability.
- Willingness to support local/regional news efforts alongside our News Director.
- Active interest in regional community affairs, local events, and high school athletics.
- Play-by-play or sports reporting experience/interest is a major plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client meetings and regional events.
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-Time: Base salary plus commission structure, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, and health allowance options.
- Part-Time: Competitive hourly pay (Host/Sports) or hourly/commission base (Marketing).
