SUMMARY OF POSITION: Project Engineer is responsible for managing part and tool launch through APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process to meet customer requirements including regular status communication with customers and maintenance of all related systems data.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Provide overall project leadership for new business projects, engineering changes and tool replacementsEnsure timely processing of Project Engineering functions and quick escalation of issuesEstablish complete project timelines in coordination with resource and capacity limitationsSend customer communications to meet goal of weekly project communications to customers on each projectAssist with maintenance of project metrics, standards and systemsAssist with improvement of Project Engineering processes for cost, quality, delivery and customer satisfactionSupport maintenance of Project Engineering standards and systemsOther duties as assigned or requiredQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; or minimum of 5 years Project Engineering experience Prior experience in stamping, fabrication or other relevant manufacturing preferredGeneral computer and MS Office proficiency required3D CAD knowledge desired but not required, SolidWorks preferredAbility to read blueprints; understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) preferredStrong organizational skills requiredAbility to prioritize multiple projects with high attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skills requiredWorking knowledge of project management tools (e.g. Gantt charts) requiredFamiliarity with APQP process preferred, working knowledge required within 6 months PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to sit and talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms.
