SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

Under the direction the Director of Manufacturing, the Manufacturing Supervisor ensures the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards, and customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.  Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws to include training employees, assigning and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. 

  • Supervision of team engaged in manufacturing
  • Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the systems integration and functions to unsure the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards, and customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Plan production schedules, review component parts, and sub-assembly availability against build schedule, make schedule adjustments as needed
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 procedures and requirements 
  • Recommend and implement departmental policies and procedures, processes, and methods
  • Continually evaluate processes and methods, recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, utilization of people, and quality of product
  • Act as technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems; analyze and resolve work problems, and assist workers in solving work problems
  • Maintain departmental supplies, tools, equipment, and order as necessary
  • Assure compliance with quality company standards
  • Complete reports on production performance and drive continuous improvement with data
  • Ensure compliance with departmental housekeeping standards, and all safety and work rules and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned or required

QUALIFICATIONS: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

  • Requires an Associate’s degree in Manufacturing and 5-10 years related experience in manufacturing 
  • 2-3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, Maintenance instructions, and procedures manual
  • Strong leadership skills & problem solving skills
  • Mechanical aptitude & experience in inspection methods
  • Skills in metal fabrication  preferred
  • Computer proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to sit and talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms.   The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
