Accounting Manager

FISBA NORTH AMERICA / ACCOUNTING MANAGER / SACO, ME 

FISBA NA is seeking an Accounting Manager to work from their Saco, Maine office/production facility. Reporting to the President, the position performs the full range of accounting and finance functions and has overall responsibility for maintaining accurate records, reporting, and compliance.   

This is an office-based position, but there is scheduling flexibility to meet personal needs.  

FISBA AG, headquartered in Switzerland, is a global company with subsidiaries in the US and China. FISBA AG is dedicated to developing optical solutions for Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing and Aerospace and Defense applications.  

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.  
• CPA preferred. 
• 3 years of experience with responsibility for full cycle accounting, payrolland preparation of GAAP compliant financial statements. 
• Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing setting preferred.  
• Experience working with a global parent company helpful. 
• Experience with SAP or other ERP preferred.  
• Advanced Excel skills to extract and manipulate data for reporting and month-end close in advance of SAP implementation.  
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure clarity and understanding. 
• Passion for numbers and commitment to accuracy, timeliness and effective reporting.  

• Salary range starts at$90k; offer commensurate with experience.

• The Accounting Manager will work with all members of the FISBA team to ensure timely and accurate accounting and reporting for FISBA NA and FISBA AG. 
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review GAAP compliant financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).  
• Financial, Payroll, Cost and Project Accounting: Fully responsible for the accounting of FISBA NA from making accounting entries to reporting and analysis. Ensure accurate posting and tracking of project revenue and costs, and timely reporting to management of project budget issues.  
• Cash Management: Manage cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, payroll, and employee expenses.   
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Participate in budget preparation, analysis, and forecasting.  
• Manufacturing Support: Report on monthly production metrics (e.g. WIP) and support effective inventory management practices. 
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP) and relevant regulations.  
• Audit Management: Coordinate and complete annual audits.  
• Internal Controls and Processes: Develop and maintain internal accounting controls. Develop effective accounting processes and systems and collaborate to ensure that processes are understood and followed.  
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems in coordination with FISBA AG.  
• Analysis and Reporting: Analyze financial data, identify trends, and prepare reports for management. Work closely with FISBA NA President to provide modeling and analysis to evaluate investments, employee benefits, etc.  
• Financial Advice: Provide financial guidance and advice to management.
