Responsibilities
- Perform fiber splicing with precision to connect fiber optic cables efficiently and accurately.
- Install and configure network equipment including Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, and telephony systems.
- Conduct cable management, routing, and cabling of low voltage systems in various environments.
- Use hand tools and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters to test electrical continuity and signal integrity.
- Troubleshoot network issues related to fiber optics, Ethernet connections, and telecommunication systems in the field.
- Assist with the installation of telecommunication infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety standards and specifications.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including test results, cable routes, and system configurations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a service technician or field technician within telecommunication or networking industries.
- Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and network installation procedures.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to cabling, conduit setup, and low voltage electrical systems.
- Knowledge of telecommunication standards, electrical safety protocols, and low voltage wiring practices.
- Ability to operate hand tools effectively and work safely in diverse field environments.
