Job Title: Order Fulfillment Technician
Classification: Non-exempt/Full Time
Reports to: Logistics Supervisor
Job Summary: The Order Fulfillment Technician provides inventory and data tracking support to the Logistics department as it relates to outgoing invoices and orders for delivery to dispensaries, maintains ongoing accuracy of internal finished goods inventory as it is brought in from Packaging/QC, and ensures invoice accuracy as goods are pulled for orders to be delivered.
Essential Functions
- Data entry: daily tasks include intake of produced finished products into the storage vaults/rooms and in the inventory tracking system via Bluetooth scanning and manual data entry.
- Ensure organized and clean vault storage by maintaining accurate daily inventory checks and re-organizing to accommodate new products.
- Pull orders for outgoing invoices and enter/scan into internal tracking spreadsheets in a timely fashion, ensuring both accuracy and completeness.
- Make use of METRC seed-to-sale software to oversee package generation and/or reallocation to fulfill orders accurately. Generate package tags as needed, move tags’ digital locations, and update inventory spreadsheets to match.
- Receive new and updated orders from the sales department and communicate changes or questions respectfully and professionally with sales and other teams via approved channels. Constant and timely communication is key to ensuring that all parties involved are aware of order updates and shipment status.
- Report any issues, discrepancies, or irregularities directly to the Order Fulfillment Team Lead, the Logistics Supervisor, and/or the Compliance & Logistics Manager for investigation; sort through information to attempt to solve or figure out the issue before bringing in management.
- Generate and print shipping labels and/or packaging stickers required for delivery to a dispensary, and place on product. Perform checks to ensure accuracy of information on these labels.
- Work closely with the Order Fulfillment Team Lead, Logistics Technicians, and/or Logistics Supervisor to ensure orders are prepared on time and appropriately scheduled to accommodate inventory levels in the vault.
- Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers related to inventory, orders/invoices, intake of produced product, or product labeling; do so quickly and efficiently to resolve any dispensary inventory issues as they arise.
- Maintain appropriate schedule to ensure inventory and order fulfillment coverage for all hours of the established business day. This may include staggered shifts of employees in this department.
- Responsible for following all operational guidelines, verbal directives, training information, and policies when performing duties.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal licensing requirements. Remain familiar with applicable laws and regulations.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- College course work and/or degree preferred.
- METRC and/or industry experience is a plus.
- Excellent organizer and deadline driven.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- Professional, polished, and trustworthy.
- Ability to work swiftly and productively, both independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to pass an OAC 3796 background check.
Working Environment
This job operates in a professional lab environment, processing facility, commercial kitchen, and cultivation facility. Much of the day is spent in a conditioned vault monitoring inventory and pulling products from shelves.
Physical Requirements
- The employee is regularly required to use their hands to type, reach above their head, and move boxes on and off carts and shelves.
- The employee is required to sit/stand and work for 6 hours each shift.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- The employee is required to safely lift and/or move up to 25lbs on a regular basis.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus, including looking at a computer screen for a good portion of the day.
Stipulation of employment is passing an OHIO BCI and FBI background check in accordance with ORC/OAC 3796.
Employees are not allowed to work on the premises until the badge is activated in the Ohio Department of Medical Marijuana e-Licensing portal.
