Job Summary

A Field Brand Ambassador is a fun, proactive, and strategic individual who displays a genuine passion for cannabis-based medicine and the products we sell. Our FBA is our boots-on-the-ground in a young, fast-paced, competitive, and growing marketplace. The FBA promotes and educates patients about our products, manages interactions with dispensaries, makes sure sales and marketing collateral are readily accessible in the marketplace, collects patient and market data, and helps sell-through products. The FBA should be approachable, outgoing, and an excellent communicator. Finally, the FBA should exhibit a professional level of customer engagement, be able to work with patients from all walks of life and should exhibit a genuine passion for our products.

Essential Functions

  • Call on dispensaries in person, email and over the phone
  • Schedule and conduct in-store events, activations and presentations, as well as patient appreciation and education days, at least three to five days per week.
  • Distribute branded swag, literature, and toolkits to dispensaries and remain in constant communication with store managers to make sure they have what they need to support our product lines.
  • Generate sales and collect sell-through in-store data; Conduct surveys and store audits to ensure our products are displayed and sold properly.
  • Use market data and insights to target certain dispensaries and regions of the state to ensure we are matching up against the competition
  • Conduct primary market research on patients, dispensaries, competitors, and competing products to ensure our products and services remain ahead of the game and best-in-class
  • Educate patients and dispensary staff on products, services, features, pricing, and upcoming events; Work together with Sales Manager and Sales Team to maintain strong patient and dispensary relationships
  • Present and sell company products and services to new and existing customers using sales and marketing techniques like Suggestive & Solution selling; Communicate product promotions with patients for the benefit of expanding brand awareness through retail promotions
  • Have a thorough understanding of our products and be able to educate dispensaries and patients on how our products would be beneficial to them
  • Regularly interact with patients to provide education, increase demand, and promote products
  • Serve as a point of contact for all patient and dispensary-related needs and/or requests.
  • Effectively communicate to Sales Manager to ensure all field reporting, job assignments, and records are completed accurately, on-time, and on budget; Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual feedback to Company in the form of formal reports, Power Point presentations, meetings, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) detailing the performance of assigned product lines, growth potential, patient feedback, etc.
  • Maintain full compliance with ORC 3796 and OAC 3796, as well as other Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program Rules and Policies
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Sales Manager and Management Team

  • Organizational Support – Follows policies and procedures; comfortable and proficient in creating and filing reports; possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Quality Control—Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality; possesses the ability to review the work of others in an objective manner.
  • Computer Skills – Proficient in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, spreadsheets, and typing; an above-average knowledge of Microsoft Office including: Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive, Skype, and Flow; comfortable using a laptop and a tablet.

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the individual will be occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high (loud). The individual may work in a controlled climate with chilled to warm temperatures. The individual will be sitting at a desk or behind the wheel of a car for long periods of time, walking, standing, leaning, and crouching throughout the workday on hard flooring. The individual may be exposed to plant waste, high amounts of water and general humidity during certain operations and may occasionally be exposed to bright LED lighting. Sufficient PPE will be provided by the Company, such as: LED protective eye wear, waterproof aprons & gloves, non-latex gloves, Tyvex suits, face masks/respirators, gas masks, hair nets, beard nets, if ever necessary.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to work on their feet, and be comfortable walking, crouching, and standing for long periods of time, as well as sitting at a desk for long periods of time.

The individual must be able to concentrate on paperwork, general data, numbers, and be familiar with the legal verbiage used in the OAC Chapter 3796.

The individual must be capable of reviewing their work for errors and make adjustments as necessary.

The individual may be required to lift up to 30 pounds at a time, and occasionally use scaffolding and/or portable ladders.

Stipulation of employment is passing an OHIO BCI and FBI background check in accordance with ORC/OAC 3796. Must be 21 or older.

Employees are not allowed to work on the premises until the badge is activated in the Ohio Department of Medical Marijuana e-Licensing portal.
