Duties
- Safely operate front loader trucks, ensuring smooth collection of waste from designated routes
- Load and unload waste containers using mechanical arms and hydraulic systems with precision and care
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking for mechanical issues and safety compliance
- Assist with the maintenance of trucks, including basic mechanical troubleshooting and reporting repairs needed
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during daily operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, team members, and customers to coordinate pickups and address any concerns
- Perform heavy lifting tasks when necessary, ensuring proper body mechanics to prevent injury
Experience
- Proven experience driving commercial vehicles such as front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, or dump trucks
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks, hydraulic systems, and manual transmissions
- Prior delivery or waste collection driver experience preferred, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Ability to load & unload materials manually when required, with physical strength for heavy lifting tasks
- Familiarity with operating tractor-trailers or flatbed trucks is a plus but not mandatory
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with clean driving record required
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy vehicle operation and waste management regulations
