Specializing in commercial HVAC and plumbing solutions, our client delivers new construction, renovation, and complex design-build projects across the hospitality, education, and light commercial sectors. Known for operational stability, quality craftsmanship, and exceptional employee retention, they are looking to add an experienced HVAC Estimator to their team.
Position Overview
The HVAC Estimator will drive the estimation process for commercial HVAC projects valued between $1M and $10M. This hands-on, technical role requires expertise in digital takeoffs, blueprint interpretation, bid preparation, and cost analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive proposals for new construction, renovation, and design-build projects.
Takeoffs & Blueprint Analysis: Perform detailed labor and material takeoffs for ductwork, sheet metal, hydronic piping, commercial plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Proposal & Bid Management: Manage the full estimating lifecycle, including pre-bid reviews, vendor quote comparisons, and final proposal submission.
Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Evaluate supplier pricing and subcontractor bids to support competitive project pricing.
Digital Tools: Utilize digital takeoff and estimating software such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Buildertrend, and related platforms.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 5 years estimating commercial HVAC new construction and renovation projects.
Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems (ductwork, sheet metal, hydronic piping) and blueprint interpretation.
Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with electronic takeoff and estimating tools.
Skills: Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication abilities.
General Requirements: Valid driver’s license with an insurable record; ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Education: Some college completed; a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $100,000 – $130,000 per year
