The Opportunity:
KLR Executive Search Group is partnering with a Boston-based, full-service law firm specializing in trial advocacy, business law, corporate transactions, commercial and real estate finance, and sophisticated estate planning. This is a unique opportunity for an Estate Planning Attorney to join a well-established practice and take on the book of business of a founding partner approaching retirement. The role offers a clear path for growth and the potential to step into a future leadership position within a highly regarded firm. The firm is seeking a talented attorney to work closely with this founding partner as they transition their practice. Ideal candidates will have the expertise and client-focused approach needed to manage complex estate and business succession planning matters for high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners. This position can sit on a hybrid/remote basis out of the firm’s Boston, MA office.
This Partners practice focuses on advising privately held and family-owned businesses on a wide range of legal matters, including:
- Business formation and start-up
- Shareholder agreements and asset protection
- Partnerships and joint ventures
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Business succession planning and exit strategies
The practice has developed deep expertise in guiding family businesses through ownership transitions while minimizing estate taxes. Other areas of focus include real estate transactions and financing, commercial leasing, estate planning, and litigation involving business disputes, probate, and real estate matters.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trusts and estates, business succession planning, or closely held business law
- Proven expertise in estate and tax planning, corporate transactions, and designing complex succession and wealth transfer strategies
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and families
- Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to practice in Massachusetts are required
The salary range for this position is $140,000–$250,000, plus benefits and bonus potential. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, including the role and its responsibilities, as well as a candidate’s experience, education, skills, and geographic location.
