KLR Executive Search Group is partnering with a Boston-based, full-service law firm that provides high-quality legal services to a diverse group of closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals. The firm is seeking a Corporate Associate to join its expanding business practice group, with a focus on M&A and general corporate matters. This is an excellent opportunity to take a hands-on role, working directly with clients on sophisticated transactions.
The Opportunity:
The firm is hiring at both mid- and senior-associate levels. The position can be based in the Boston office or fully remote. Billing expectations are consistent across practice groups (1,600 hours), with a strong emphasis on work-life balance and a collaborative culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and solutions to entrepreneurial clients across industries on mergers and acquisitions, commercial finance, and general corporate matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of corporate documents, including acquisition agreements, employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, shareholder agreements, operating agreements, and more.
- Negotiate, structure, and implement equity compensation plans, bonus plans, and deferred compensation agreements.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor to business owners and families.
Qualifications:
- 4 years of relevant law firm experience.
- JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice in Massachusetts.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and corporate document drafting/negotiation.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and practice management skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The salary range for this position is $140,000–$190,000, plus benefits and a competitive bonus. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, including the role and its responsibilities, as well as a candidate’s experience, education, skills, and geographic location.
