Kloss Stenger & Gormley LLP is a smaller mid-sized law firm comprised of 10 attorneys with offices in both Buffalo and Clarence. The firm is seeking an associate attorney with 0-4 years of experience for a full-time position. The associate attorney will be working under the supervision of other attorneys within the firm, primarily out of our Clarence office.
You will work directly with experienced attorneys on corporate transactions, commercial litigation, and general business consulting. This is substantive work, not shadowing. You will receive close mentorship, develop practical judgment, and grow quickly into the position. Our collaborative culture welcomes your questions and values your contributions. Areas of Practice for the Position:
- Civil Litigation (General Commercial, Intellectual Property Infringement, Product Liability Defense).
- Corporate/Transactional.
- General Business Consulting.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited school.
- NYS Bar admission or pending admission.
Skills Needed:
- Strong legal research and drafting skills.
- Critical thinking and analysis skills.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple cases and matters at the same time.
- Ability to issue spot, analyze, gather and summarize data, and solve problems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage case files, interact with clients, support senior attorneys.
- Conduct legal research and assist with drafting memorandums of law.
- Assist with depositions, written discovery, and litigation document review.
- Assist with corporate due diligence in connection with acquisitions and mergers.
