Duties
- Assist with food preparation and cooking to support daily kitchen operations
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Support menu planning by preparing ingredients and assisting with meal assembly
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing supplies
- Help with food service activities such as plating and serving meals in accordance with quality standards
- Support catering events by preparing and delivering food items efficiently and professionally
- Use knife skills and culinary techniques to assist chefs in meal preparation and presentation
Experience
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Background in food service, restaurant work, or the food industry is preferred
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, food safety protocols, and food handling procedures is essential
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking techniques will be advantageous
- Knowledge of catering services and serving practices enhances your ability to excel in this role
- Strong knife skills and culinary experience are a plus for supporting diverse kitchen tasks
- Prior work in a fast-paced environment such as restaurants or catering settings demonstrates your ability to thrive under pressure
