Cut to Length Assistant

Job Summary

The Cut to Length Assistant Operator supports the processing line and machine operations, working under the guidance of an operator, senior operator, lead, or supervisor. This role involves duties related to the setup of the line and/or machine and serves as the junior operator on the line. The position reports to the Operations Manager.

Job Responsibilities   

• Setup Assistance: Help operators with line and machine setup and production processes
• Product Loading: Load products onto the line or machine while adhering to safety and quality standards
• Non-Conformance Notification: Report any observed non-conformances during processing to the operator
• Setup Creation: Assist in the creation and adjustment of setups as required
• Packaging Support: Aid in the packaging area as needed
• Cross-Training: Support and/or train on other lines or machines to meet business needs
• Computer Use: Utilize computer systems to facilitate production tasks
• Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Computer Experience: Experience using computers for work or school
• Physical Capability: Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds
• Experience: Prior experience in an industrial warehouse environment is preferred
• Measurement Tools: Proficient with basic measurement tools such as tape measures
• Instruction Comprehension: Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Safety Adherence: Ability to follow safety and operational processes and procedures.
• Dependability: Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Learning and Training: Willingness to learn new skills and train others as needed.
• Physical Examination: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Reliability: Demonstrated reliable work history
• Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
