Job Summary
The Crane Operator/Loader is responsible for handling materials as related to the shipping and receiving of inventory and customer orders. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.
The Crane Operator/Loader is responsible for handling materials as related to the shipping and receiving of inventory and customer orders. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.
- 2nd Shift Hours: 4:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m., with availability to work overtime as needed.
- Crane and Forklift Operation: Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts
- Product Knowledge: Understand the products handled, including color coding and customer specifications; read and interpret all measuring devices
- Shipping and Receiving: Unload and receive inbound stock shipments and load outbound shipments, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed
- Loading Procedures: Safely load trucks, including proper chaining and tarping of trailers
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial or distribution environment
- Certification: Valid certification to operate overhead cranes is required
- Education: High School diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Regulations Knowledge: Understanding of DOT regulations regarding load weight
- Safety and Procedures: Ability to follow safety protocols and operational procedures
- Dependability: Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Learning and Training: Willingness to learn new skills and train others
- Physical Examination: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
- Reliability: Demonstrated reliable work history
- Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
