The Opportunity
Canning Filler General Labor
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties:
- Packing/processing of canned products in a timely and safe manner, maintaining highest quality standard.
- Communicates with Can Processing Operator/Lead on any quality or safety concerns.
- Assist Can Processing Operator/Lead in controlling product quality, contamination, weight control and line efficiency.
- Completes general cleaning of production areas during changeovers
- Perform all sanitation duties needed at the line
- All other duties as assigned
SAFETY
- Attend safety trainings
- Follow all safety instructions and policies
- Report any injuries or near miss accidents to supervisor
- Report any unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor
- Wear required PPE that is determined by site
ENVIRONMENTAL
- Keep work area clean and free of debris
FOOD SAFETY
- Maintain all sanitation schedules
- Attend food safety trainings
- Follow all GMPs and food safety instructions
- Report food safety non-conformances to supervisor
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- General mathematical ability
- Self-motivation
- Learning, memorizing and executing a sequence of procedures
- Basic computer skills
- Good hand – eye coordination
- Willing and able to get along with others
- Good judgement and reasoning abilities
PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Continuous standing and walking
- Continuous bending, stooping, carrying, lifting, pushing and pulling
- Occasional climbing and reaching above shoulder level
- Occasionally squatting
