Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Schedule: Monday - Friday

Compensation:

• All in hourly compensation: $22.18/hr
  • Base Pay: $20.96/hr
  • Sign on Bonus: $1.22/hr worked
• Profit Sharing Eligibility: Begins after completing 1 year of employment ($7.7 Million in Profits Paid to Profit Sharing Pool in 2025)

What We Are Looking For

We’re now hiring a Assistant Mill Operator (Premix) to support our Perham, MN Tuffy’s Pet Foods facility. The person in this role will be tasked to operate premix functions of batching, mixing, and unloading into plastic fiber totes. To also follow all quality and safety requirements set forth in company policies.. This position will report to the Mill Supervisor.

Essential Duties:

• Work with the dry production schedule to assure production requirements are met on a daily basis.

• Coordinate with mill foreman, assistant supervisor, and mill operator to assure timely production.

• Coordinate with forklift driver to schedule ingredients for premixes.

• Follow production schedule in order for making premixes.

• Coordinate with batching sheets to determine ingredients and quantities needed for each batch and then stage on a pallet.

• Add ingredients to batch, send to the mixer, and then outload to proper tote.

• Print off tags and attach to each tote.

• Daily inspections of premix batching area to assure equipment is in good working order.

• Daily cleaning of premix area.

• Weekly inspections of all equipment.

• Notify maintenance of any unusual equipment noises or loss of proficiencies

• Train new departmental employees.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills

• Self-motivation
• Must not be afraid of heights/manlift
• Must have safe work record
• Willing to be a good team player
• Good communication skills
• Must be able to occasionally handle weights of up to 100lbs and handle 50lb weights on a routine basis
• Willing to work rotating shifts or extended hours
• Able to go from inside to outside environment throughout the day
• Able to work other milling departments when short handed
