What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dedicated Dispatcher position at KLLM Transport Services?
Job Duties & Responsibilities
The Dedicated Dispatcher will perform a variety of administrative-related duties, including, but not limited to the following:
- Dispatch loads to drivers and ensure that all vital information is passed on to the driver to increase the satisfaction of external customers
- Trace all shipments transported by drivers
- Manage the performance and time-off of all drivers in fleet
- Manage all compliance issues with drivers
- Issue purchase orders to reimburse drivers for out-pocket road expenses
- Route drivers to ensure that D.O.T. requirements are met as well as fuel stop requirements
- Satisfy the mileage expectations of drivers in their fleet by monitoring and working closely with Load Planners
Qualifications
- An associate degree in a business-related or communication field is preferred
- Previous dispatch work experience in the trucking industry may be substituted for education
- Two (2) years of dispatch experience preferred
- Good phone and communication skills
- Must be detail oriented and good with following-up on unfinished tasks
- Basic personal computer or host terminal skills required
