The Outside Field Sales Representative is responsible for identifying new leads, meeting potential new customers to identify their needs, and closing sales deals. The Outside Field Sales Representative must possess proven outside sales experience and knowledge of the energy industry while understanding and striving to meet the company’s strategic goals, mission, values, and beliefs. Ideal prospect should have B2B experience selling construction services, excavation, ROW maintenance or access projects. The Outside Field Sales Representative will work under the general supervision of the Vice President of Business Development & Communications and work cooperatively with the Operations and Project Management Teams.
DUTIES, TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Initiatives
· Building and sustaining long-lasting business relationships with new customers.
· Conduct face-to-face meetings with potential new customers; this will involve daily travel.
· Implement effective sales strategy to drive sales, including cold-calls, sending emails, qualifying leads, face-to-face sales meetings, presentations and closing.
· Represent the company at various networking, trade-show, & industry events throughout the year to build brand awareness and trust.
· Collaborating with the marketing department to expand brand presence through the creation of suitable marketing materials.
· Maintaining accurate records of all leads, customer accounts, meeting notes, sales, and providing updates on a daily basis through company platforms.
· Strategically negotiating with potential new customers and existing relationships to close sales.
· Submitting weekly sales reports to the Vice President of Business Development & Communications.
· Meet or exceed year one sales goals and expectations. Sales goals and expectations will be reviewed and set on an annual basis.
· Qualifying sales opportunities to bid are considered at or above 20% gross margin. Projects at a lower margin may be bid on only after evaluation by and approval of the Senior Project Manager.
Field Initiatives
· Work collaboratively with the DirtWorks Project Management, Operations and Safety teams to ensure that all aspects of the project are meeting performance, cost, operational metrics and customer needs.
· Communicate with DirtWorks field supervisory personnel and assist them if needed in communications with customers in order to ensure excellent performance.
· Communicate with the customer to ensure that expectations are met.
· Be aware of possible problems and take proactive steps to prevent them from occurring.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
· High school diploma
· A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field is preferred.
· Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience effectively driving sales
