What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse, Raymond Hill School position at Klingberg Comprehensive Program Services Inc?
The Raymond Hill School serves elementary, middle, and high school students in need of specialized services delivered in an environment of safety and caring.
Typical activities:
Identifies minor illnesses and injuries; provides treatment, medication or medical care within parameters set forth by the agency’s physicians.
Refers serious or specialized problems to proper medical resources.
Administers medication/medication training and supervises medical treatments and use of medications by child development staff for all assigned programs.
Coordinates activities of all medical related consultants.
Maintains a treatment room for examination and treatment purposes; purchases and dispenses health care supplies.
Prepares and maintains permanent medical records, including identified illnesses, referrals made, prescription medications and treatment ordered.
Maintains a variety of records concerning clients in treatment, including immunizations, physical examinations, health insurance identifications and medical emergency cards.
Acts as liaison between treatment staff and the medical community.
Confers with treatment team members or parents/guardians regarding medical issues of client’s treatment as necessary.
Provides in-service education on medical concerns, as appropriate.
Consults with Food Services and consulting dietitian on dietary and nutritional matters.
Provides health services for on-duty staff members as appropriate; maintains appropriate records; assists in preparation of claim reports as required in cases of work-related injuries.
Provides counseling for clients with problems of a medical or sexual nature when appropriate.
Monitors the confidentiality and proper control of all nursing records.
Provides additional client related services as appropriate or assigned.
Education/Experience/Other requirements:
Registered Nurse (RN) with current CT license; 2-4 years’ experience in school or social services setting preferred. Must maintain certification in CPR/First Aid, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI). Must have a valid driver’s license.
