Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive patient care tailored to individual mental health needs, including administering medication and monitoring patient responses
- Assist in developing and implementing personalised care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Observe, record, and report on patients’ behaviour, progress, and any adverse reactions or concerns
- Support patients through therapeutic activities, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with healthcare regulations and organisational policies
- Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment for all patients and staff
Skills
- Proven experience in patient care within a mental health or psychiatric setting
- Strong knowledge of anatomy as it relates to mental health conditions and treatments
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds
- Empathy, patience, and resilience when managing challenging behaviours or situations
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Organised with keen attention to detail in documentation and patient management tasks
