Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Compounding Director to oversee all compounding operations at our facility. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality production, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the compounding department.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, process-oriented leader with a strong background in personal care or cosmetic manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Direct all compounding activities and personnel to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company SOPs.
- Oversee accurate weighing, mixing, heating, and blending of raw materials.
- Manage and train compounding supervisors, leads, and technicians.
- Partner with R&D and Quality to troubleshoot and improve formulations and scale-up processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, yield, and waste reduction.
- Ensure safety compliance and proper handling of chemicals and materials.
- Maintain accurate batch documentation and inventory control.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering to ensure all equipment is properly maintained.
- Support pilot batches and new product launches.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred).
- 8 years of experience in personal care, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical compounding.
- Minimum 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong understanding of formulation chemistry and mixing technology.
- Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of ERP and batch management systems preferred.
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish
