What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fish Scaler - Fishmarket position at Klein's Seafood?
This position is primarily responsible for scaling fish on delivery days. On days without a delivery they will also be waiting on customers, stocking cases, and keeping a clean working environment. Hours are flexible, no nights and always have a two day weekend (Sunday and Monday). Must be team oriented and work well with others.
Essential Duties:
- Scale fish, repack in ice, and keep scaling area clean
- Prep seafood, stock and organize displays and fish cases
- Clean the work areas and maintain tools and equipment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Physical ability to lift heavy products and work in a standing position for long hours
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and regulations regarding food safety and sanitation
- Excellent communication skills and customer centered approach
- Basic math and computation skills
