Dental Hygienist

Responsibilities

• Perform dental prophylaxis (cleanings), including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Take dental imaging such as X-rays and intra-oral photos while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories using Open Dental software.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality and secure handling of medical records.

Requirements

• Valid Dental Hygienist license with current radiology credits.
• Proficiency in dental terminology and infection control procedures.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection prevention protocols, and sterilization procedures.
