Kleen-Rite Corporation, Family Owned and Operated for over 60 years, is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Associate to help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our company properties in Columbia, PA. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling (15–20 hours/week) during our Monday–Friday operating hours.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in working independently and enjoys being outdoors in all seasons. This work is essential to keeping our facilities safe, clean, and functional! Duties to include general grounds upkeep, trash and recycling handling, forklift operation, basic cleaning of warehouse areas, foliage control, and seasonal maintenance such as light snow removal.
Job Responsibilities:
- Pick up trash and debris from premises
- Empty trash and garbage containers on a regular schedule and as needed
- Process trash removal and corrugated scraps with a compactor
- Spray and pull weeds around buildings, walkways and property, as needed
- Snow removal from areas that are assigned to you
- Perform general labor or related duties to support operation requirements, as needed
- Follow established procedure for Maintenance and Safety
- Perform general housekeeping duties for assigned areas to maintain a clean and orderly environment
- Achieve performance goals and objectives with general supervision
- Follow all safety protocol and procedures
- Perform other duties, as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must be able to safely use/operate forklift and other equipment
- Must be comfortable working outside in various seasonal temperatures
- Must be comfortable handling cleaning chemicals and occasionally hazardous materials
- Strong attention to detail, organization and time-management skills
- Be punctual, reliable, and prepared for work during work days and hours
- Must be able to read documents written in Standard English text
- Must work within the framework of the Kleen-Rite Corp. Values and Mission Statement
- Must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
Physical Demands:
- Ability to adhere to physical requirements of the position: stand, walk, kneel, stoop, reach, push, pull.
- Must be able to lift, pull and push up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to regularly use warehouse equipment such as step stools, ladders and other tools to assist.
- Able to work around equipment, forklifts, large trucks, and loud noise.
